August 18 - 20, 2017

I was back in the bodice with the Vixens En Garde at the comic convention known as TerrifiCon at the Mohegan Sun casino in Connecticut, where we made our mark as the sole performing entertainment at the con and the subject of much speculation, then adulation! With recognition and support by Dean Cain, of "Superman" fame, and Lee Meriwether, also known as Catwoman, as well as numerous reporters, YouTube channel heads, and photographers, it was truly an incredible experience, and a great step forward for us as a company!

THE PITCH: A weekend retreat to Illyria in the middle of Manhattan winter: expansive physical ensemble play combines with Stage Combat, Clown, Cue Script, and Folio techniques to unlock the liberating language of Shakespeare’s storytelling, strengthening the confidence and clarity of your work in an environment for creation without judgement.

Winter Wonderland 2017

January 5-8, 2017

I attended this enormous four-day stage combat workshop in Chicago and had the opportunity to study with multiple Fight Masters and Fight Directors from both SAFD and MACE, including Scot Mann, Richard Raether, and John McFarland, and to explore work with some very eccentric weapons pairings. I also had a strong focus on intimacy for the stage and intimacy in violence, under the guidance of Tonia Sina and Alicia Rodis, both of Intimacy Directors International. Very much looking forward to parlaying these new skills into the work of this coming year!

SAFD Recommendation in Single Sword

November 29th, 2016

I am the proud recipient of a Recommended Pass in Single Sword for my first SAFD Skills Proficiency Test! Enormous thanks to Certified Teacher Alicia Rodis for imparting her wisdom and deadliness, and to Fight Master Michael G. Chin for adjudicating!

New York Shakespeare Company Workshop

September 11, 2016

I had a magnificent time working with the New York Shakespeare Company in their latest workshop, focusing on physical freedom and using said freedom in collusion with Elizabethan-style cue scripts and deep text analysis to bring an unparalelled level of honesty and presence to Shakespearean performance. It was easily the most present and open work I have ever had the privilege of witnessing and the honor of participating in, and I cannot wait for the next workshop with these incredible people!

RIPPER at Times Scare

October 9 - 31, 2015

I am absolutely thrilled to be acting and Fight Captain-ing this macabre and marvelous new production through Times Scare, New York's only year-round haunted house! Victorian, dangerous, and replete with multiple English accents and a great deal of stage blood.

"In London, 1888, a bold young woman reporter desperate to make a name for herself starts tracking a string of gruesome murders. When she accidentally finds herself face to face with the killer, they begin an elaborate and deadly game of cat and mouse. Can she stop him and become famous in the process, or will he rip the city, and her, apart? Wickedly playful and deliciously terrifying, Ripper asks how far would you go for the story of the century?"

Was asked to assist with some of the second half of the class, especially the sword-fighting portion, and generally had a marvelous time. Great guy, great experience, and some pretty great bruises as a result!

I am reading the stage directions and other narrative tidbits in a staged reading of Julia Holewinska's Foreign Bodies as part of the New York Theatre Workshop's (A)pollonia: A Festival of Readings of New Polish Plays.

Directed by David Schweizer, the play is inspired by the remarkable true story of leading Solidarity activist Marek Hołuszko, who led a famous underground cell in Warsaw during martial law in the 1980s. With the onset of independence in 1989 he decided to change his sex and became Ewa Hołuszko, sparking a new career as an activist and public speaker for the transgender community.

Working with a fantastic director and exceptional cast!
